Remove -- appearing above the Gmail Signature

You would have added your signature in your Gmail account, this signature is automatically appended to composed email at the end of the content. Signature is displayed to the recipient after recipient clicks on "..." (ellipses) button saying "show trimmed content" when hovered over it.

This might not be what you would have intended while adding signature, it must be displayed at end to recipient without any efforts. So in this post I am describing Gmail lab feature that can be used to display signature at the end of content to recipient without any efforts and removes -- from your composed mails.

There is a Gmail lab feature named "Signature Tweaks".To enable this feature follow below mentioned simple steps:
  • Open your Gmail account and click on the Gear button at the top right.
  • Select the "Settings" option from the list of options available.
  • Select Labs Menu from the top right of the available menus in settings.

  • In search box, start searching for Signature Tweak and this feature will be displayed in search results.
  • Now eneable "Signature tweaks" feature from the radio box.
  • Click on "Save Changes" button.
Now whenever you will compose and send mail, Signature will be displayed at the end without any prompt to click to "show trimmed content" to the recipient.

  1. When I go to labs, there is no "signature tweak" lab available. Thankfully my signature doesn't trim, but I'm going bonkers on finding a solution for someone else.
